The Company
AiBuilt is a SaaS platform designed to help tradies run their businesses more efficiently by
bringing essential business operations into one place.
For tradespeople, the challenge isn't only doing the work. Managing customers, jobs, quotes,
scheduling and the day-to-day running of a business can become increasingly difficult as the
business grows.
AiBuilt is positioned to simplify that process — giving trades businesses the tools they need
to spend less time managing their operations and more time doing the work that drives the
business forward.
The Challenge
For a pre-seed company, the pitch deck needs to do more than explain what the product
does.
It needs to establish the problem, make the opportunity feel significant, communicate why
the solution matters, and give investors a reason to believe the business can grow.
The challenge was to turn a relatively limited company overview into a clear investor
narrative without overwhelming the audience with information.
The Approach
I structured the deck around a simple principle:
One slide. One message. One reason to keep reading.
Rather than treating the deck as a collection of information, each slide was designed to
move the investor through the story — from the challenges facing trades businesses to the
opportunity for AI Built to solve them.
Strong, declarative headlines carry the primary message, while supporting copy is kept
intentionally concise so the narrative can be understood quickly.
Visual Direction
The visual identity was designed to feel grounded in the world AI Built serves.
Instead of relying on generic technology imagery, I used real-world photography connected
to tradespeople, their environments and the work they actually do. This helps make the
product immediately relatable while avoiding the visual language of a typical abstract SaaS
presentation.
A restrained colour palette keeps the interface, content and business proposition at the
centre of the deck rather than allowing visual styling to compete with the story.
Designing Within Canva
The deck was designed entirely in Canva, which meant building custom layouts, shapes and
visual components rather than relying on default presentation templates.
The constraint became an opportunity to focus on intentional composition and information
hierarchy — demonstrating that a strong pitch deck depends more on the thinking behind
the layout than the software used to create it.
The Result
The final deck presents AI Built as a clear business opportunity rather than simply a
technology product.
The visual system creates a balance between startup credibility and the practical world of
its target customers, while the narrative structure gives each section a clear role in the
investor story.
The result is a pre-seed deck designed to make the business easy to understand, the
problem easy to recognise, and the opportunity easier to believe in.
Project Note
AiBuilt is a conceptual brand created for this portfolio project.
The company, product and pitch narrative are fictional and were developed as a presentation
design exercise.
