From Outdated to Outstanding

The Brief

A corporate team needed an existing PowerPoint presentation redesigned ahead of an internal meeting. The content was provided but the challenge was presentation.
The original deck was visually inconsistent and lacked the intentionality needed for the meeting room. The goal was to create a presentation that was clearer, cohesive and professional.

The Approach

I started with a discovery call to understand the presentation's purpose, audience and the client's visual preferences before making any design changes. The client wanted a clean, minimal design, so I used that as the guide for the redesign. I then rebuilt the presentation around three priorities:

• Clarity — creating stronger hierarchy so the audience could immediately distinguish headlines, supporting information and key points.


• Consistency — establishing a more disciplined system for spacing, typography, alignment and recurring layouts across the deck.


• Restraint — simplifying the visual treatment so the design supported the content instead of competing with it.

Rather than applying the same layout to every slide, I adapted the structure according to the information each slide needed to communicate while keeping the overall design consistent.

The Redesign

The redesign focused on bringing structure to the existing content. Typography was refined to create clearer levels of information. Spacing and alignment were standardised to give the slides more breathing room, while layouts were simplified to make dense information easier to navigate.
The result was a presentation that felt more cohesive from slide to slide without losing the substance of the original content.

The Outcome

The completed PowerPoint was delivered within a short turnaround and aligned closely with the client's expectations.
More importantly, the redesign demonstrated that a presentation doesn't need heavy visual treatment to feel polished. Clear hierarchy, consistency and intentional restraint can do much of the work.
