Building a Premium Deck From A Detailed Brief

The Brief

A consulting agency needed a brand-new PowerPoint presentation built from scratch.
The brief was detailed and the visual direction was clear: clean, minimal and premium, with a level of polish appropriate for a professional consulting environment.
The content and overall creative direction were provided by the client, so my role was to translate that material into a cohesive presentation system — without over-designing it or taking attention away from the work itself.

The Approach

With a well-defined brief as the starting point, I focused on translating the client's direction consistently across the deck.
Rather than relying on one repeated layout, I developed a flexible visual system that could accommodate different types of content, including imagery, text-led slides and more structured information. The main priorities were:
- Clear hierarchy so the key information was immediately identifiable
- Consistent spacing and alignment to create a polished, considered feel
- Strong image treatment to allow visual content to feel intentional rather than simply placed on a slide
- Restraint to maintain the minimal aesthetic established in the brief
Because the presentation was intended for a professional consulting environment, every element needed to feel deliberate without making the deck feel visually overworked.

Designing With Imagery

Unlike a traditional consulting deck built primarily around charts and frameworks, this presentation incorporated a significant amount of imagery because the client's content and creative direction called for it.
The challenge was therefore not to eliminate visual elements, but to give them structure.
Photography and other visual assets were integrated into the layouts with consistent proportions, spacing and positioning, allowing image-heavy slides to sit comfortably alongside more information-led pages.
This created variety without sacrificing cohesion.

The Result

The final presentation was delivered on schedule and to the client's specifications.
The result was a polished PowerPoint deck that translated the client's existing content and creative direction into a cohesive visual experience — clean enough for a professional consulting setting while retaining the visual character of the material.
